First tattoo

I didn’t go to the gym. No. I have barely followed a diet plan. I was a thin bony kid. Right now, I am neither thin nor fat. I don’t have a problem with my body. I just live my life. I eat everything that I love and I hardly exercise. I used to do yoga and then I stopped. I don’t wear makeup and I have no idea what is what when I enter shops like Sephora. So, here’s a story of my first permanent tattoo that was inked in my body and how much it has helped me for the past few years. A tattoo is something that is going to be a part of you forever unless you wish to go through the painful process of removing it. A tattoo can change your life. You need to make sure you decide to get one that you don’t regret.

When I was a child I was a happy-go-lucky kid. My parents had me in their shell where everything around me was good and every person was a good person. The time came, when I got out of that shell, I saw a whole new world. A world filled with evil and deadly diseases. I saw people with less compassion. I saw people with no hope. I saw people give up on life so easily. I saw people with diseases that have no escape. It pained me in a way I cannot explain. We live in a world where a lot of negative actions leave people demoralized. There are very few people I have come across who are positive and content with their life.

Years back, I came across Anbe Sivam which means Compassion is God in Tamizh. Compassion is one of the most beautiful and purest emotions within people. I got Anbe Sivam tattooed on my wrist to remind me every day that there is hope & love somewhere out there. It doesn’t matter where you come from, what religion you are or how you look, in the end, it all comes down to this — being compassionate to one another. I believe in that strongly and I also believe that there is compassion within everyone.

Yes, there are going to be people who would discourage you when you decide to get a tattoo. It is a big decision and a huge commitment. However, if it is something that would keep you positive or happy, or if it will even put a tiny smile on your face every time you see it, then don’t think, just go, get inked. I am genuinely glad that I got Anbe Sivam tattooed because it reinforces my belief that there is always hope in this painfully evil world and it is worth fighting to keep that hope alive.
